Drama at the Depot
A FREE Pop-Up Performance Festival!
The Battery Factory and South Milwaukee Performing Arts Center
invite you to live performance at the historic South Milwaukee
Railroad Depot during South Milwaukee’s Heritage Days Festival
Here’s how it looked:
July 24, 25 and 26 at 7:30 pm, 11th & Milw. Ave.
The depot was the heart of bustling downtown South Milwaukee from 1893 through the 1950’s. These performances celebrate the history of SM and feature theatre, music and dance from local arts groups. All ages are welcome. Brief intermission between acts.
Mississippi Sawyer is a band featuring conventional and improvised acoustic instruments. Cadance Collective will perform a Folk Suite of works inspired by several folk songs of the 19th century including ‘Oh My Darling, Clementine’ and ‘I’ve Been Working on the Railroad.’ Dance Revolution Milwaukee explores how we make and maintain relationships in a world filled with hustle and bustle. Kath Vandenberg’s theatre piece is about a woman in her mid-20’s remembering how she used to come and play on the platform and in the area surrounding the depot.
Drama At The Depot is a Pop-Up theatrical event presented by The Battery Factory following an open call for submissions and curated by our volunteer panel of guest selectors. For more information on how this was done, please see our original call for submission, including our application and guidelines.
